''Through my lens: a journey of conservation and connection''

As I embarked on my journey as a photographer, I made a promise to approach my photographs with the utmost respect for the environment and its inhabitants. Every photograph I take is a reflection of this commitment to ethical photography – a commitment to observe, not disturb; to capture, not intrude. But my work goes beyond simply capturing striking images. It is a testament to the urgency of conservation, a call to action in the face of mounting environmental challenges. My wildlife photos are captured in an ethical manner, respecting the natural behaviours and habitats of the subjects. I have never engaged in any harmful activities that jeopardise the well-being of wildlife, ensuring my photography contributes positively to their conservation. The close-up photos serve solely for research, revealing the reality of these activities without contributing to the industry or for personal pleasure.

Safari's; being (too) close with wildlife?!

Observing wild animals in their natural environment is a breathtaking experience, often a top priority for travellers. Safari trips offer a chance to encounter the remarkable diversity of the world's wildlife, a popular attraction for those visiting Africa. However, it's essential to question the ethics of safaris. While safaris may seem more ethical compared to supporting zoos and circuses that exploit wildlife for entertainment, it's crucial to research and choose sustainable options. Safaris that involve personal contact or disrupt the animals' natural behaviour are harmful. Other concerns include habituation, where wildlife lose their natural instincts, and the risk of animals contracting diseases from human contact.

Remember to: 1. Choose reputable providers, 2. Follow safari etiquette to respect wildlife, 3. Avoid any human contact with animals, 4. Ensure transparency about conservation efforts, 5. Verify that funds support conservation, and 6. Ensure animals can roam freely.
